Food Meets Wine: Entwine is at the Cellar Door This Autumn

There's something about a glass of good wine that just tastes better with the right food alongside it — and this autumn, we've made that even easier.

We're thrilled to have the Entwine Food Truck set up at First Creek Cellar Door, serving a seasonal menu inspired by native Australian ingredients and local produce. Whether you're joining us for a tasting or just looking for a relaxed lunch stop in the Hunter Valley, it's the perfect excuse to pull up a chair, pour a glass, and take your time.

When: Thursday to Sunday, 10.30am – 2.30pm

The Autumn Menu

Entwine's kitchen is keeping things seasonal and really delicious. Here's what's on:

  • Native Paella with Snapper Fillet, Torched Prawns, Bunya Nuts, local Ginger and Wild Rice
  • BBQ Kangaroo and Swiss Brown Mushroom, Creamy Crushed Potato, Pepperberry Jus
  • Flame Grilled Autumn Veg Skewers, Rosella Flowers, Riberry and Hempseed Quinoa with Native Crunch Mix
  • Kids Meal — $10: Whipper Snapper Seafood Rice Bowl

Add a plate to your tasting for $20*, or go all-in with the 3 plates + 5 wine pairing for just $30 — an absolute steal for what you get.

*Orders and payment are taken directly with the Entwine Food Truck.

The Full Food + Wine Pairing Experience

If you really want to make a meal of it (literally), the $30 food and wine pairing is a highlight. Entwine and the First Creek team have put together beautiful matches across the autumn menu:

  • First Creek Limited Release Vermentino 2024 & Classic Verdelho 2024 paired with the Flame Grilled Autumn Veg Skewers
  • First Creek Classic Rosé 2025 paired with the Native Paella
  • First Creek Limited Release Malbec 2023 & Classic Shiraz 2022 paired with BBQ Kangaroo

It's a proper lunch experience — unhurried, great value, and genuinely delicious.

A Great Stop for Families This Easter

The Hunter Valley is one of those rare destinations that works just as well for a family day out as it does for a grown-up escape — and having Entwine on-site makes it even easier. While the adults enjoy the wine, the kids have their own menu (hello, Seafood Rice Bowl for $10), and there's plenty of space to spread out on the grounds, watch the kangaroos graze, and take your time.

If you're planning an Easter trip to the Valley, this is a great anchor for your day.
