Offering a vibrant citrus zest aroma, our 2024 Winemaker's Reserve Semillon exhibits flavours of lime pith balanced with a chalky mid palate. The wine is carried by a seamless acid backbone giving it a great line and length.

First Creek Wines is a family owned and operated winery based in the Hunter Valley, Australia's oldest wine producing region. The talented family of winemakers comprises of Liz, Shaun and Greg Silkman whose emphasis on careful fruit selection and rigorous attention to detail produce a range of wines that appeal to both critics and consumers alike.

Our Winemaker's Reserve collection encapsulates regional and vineyard provenance, winemaking skill and integrity, as well as the essence of the First Creek style. We select grapes from benchmark vineyards, only in vintages when the fruit reaches the pinnacle of viticultural quality. The result is small batches of exceptionally rare and special wines.

Winemaker's Reserve

The Winemaker's Reserve collection is the pinnacle of First Creek Wines — wines made only when the fruit achieves a level of excellence that demands a higher tier of treatment. These are not released every vintage. Each label represents a decision by winemaker Liz Silkman that a particular block, barrel or growing season has produced something worth preserving under this name.

The range typically includes Winemaker's Reserve Chardonnay and Shiraz, each sourced from selected Hunter Valley blocks with the soil composition and canopy conditions that produce complex, age-worthy fruit. Expect more concentration, more barrel influence, and more time in the cellar before release compared to our Classic range.
