Rich, inky red with a crimson hue.
Perfumed aromas of cardamom spice, clove and dark cherry.
Surprisingly approachable for the variety — savoury, elegant and fruit-driven. Earthy notes combine with dark chocolate, tapenade and licorice. An exciting addition and an excellent example of this distinctive variety.

Tannat ia a grape variety originally from Uruguay is hailed as the grape with the highest polyphenols (antioxidants) of all red wines. The wine is full bodied and flavoursome with complex tannins. Hints of plum and berry on the palate with a smokey edge make it an ideal pairing to marinated and barbecue grilled meats with vegetables.

Enjoy at 12 - 14 degrees until 2029 alongside Slow-braised beef or a superbly aged cheddar .

Limited Release

First Creek Wines' Limited Release collection is where we push outside the Hunter Valley's classic varietal story. These are small-batch wines made in limited quantities — often from a single vineyard block, an emerging Australian wine region, or an alternative variety that caught the winemaking team's attention during a particular season.

Recent releases have included a Tumbarumba Pinot Noir, a Hilltops Sangiovese, a Hunter Valley Fiano, and a Vermentino — varieties that are increasingly finding their footing in Australia's cooler and continental growing zones.
