First Creek Wines is a family owned and operated winery based in the Hunter Valley, Australia's oldest wine producing region. The talented family of winemakers comprises of Liz, Shaun and Greg Silkman whose emphasis on careful fruit selection and rigorous attention to detail produce a range of wines that appeal to both critics and consumers alike.

Our Winemaker's Reserve collection encapsulates regional and vineyard provenance, winemaking skill and integrity, as well as the essence of the First Creek style. We select grapes from benchmark vineyards, only in vintages when the fruit reaches the pinnacle of viticultural quality. The result is small batches of exceptionally rare and special wines.

The fruit is sourced from the Wondalma vineyard in Tumbarumba. Hand-picked fruit, whole-bunch pressed and fermented for nine months in French puncheons (30% new) with weekly battonage and partial mlf. The result is a tight, fine, intense wine with lemony fruit, gentle creaminess and a tensile acid spine. The moderate alcohol of 12.2% gives the wine freshness and purity. It is long, fine and tightly coiled and grows with time in the glass. Pure class.
